Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!! A bit late! I have been sick and haven't had the energy to get the pictures off the camera. On doctors orders I have to say out of the gym for another week so I am trying to figure out what to do with myself! So here is our New Years Eve update. In Finland New Years is celebrated with fireworks. We live by a lake so it is constant fireworks until around 2am. We had our very good friends the Linna's over for dinner and the kids were so cute! The boys kept saying "I hear popcorn!" When the fireworks would go off! We had a nice time with them and are SO HAPPY they are back from vising the US!

After they left we let the girls onto the balcony to do sparklers. With Sofia's sensitive ears and me being dealthy afraid of drunk people with big fireworks we stayed on the balcony!
E's face here is so funny! She was so afraid of them at first, but when the box was all gone she was so sad they were gone! S loved them from the very first one!

Another tradition here is to melt metal. They come in the shape of a horseshoe and you melt them and then toss them into cool water and the shape that comes out is your luck for the rest of the year. The more rough the surface the better year you should have!!

P's stuck to his spoon..... that is a special kind of luck!
