USA and Finland Update!

After P left I bought the girls tickets to see the Wiggles in Green Bay. So my sister joined us for a little weekend getaway! The girls LOVED the wiggles! They were dancing and singing and having a great time. It was also a very nice treat for the girls and me to have Auntie along!

One day before P left we took a hike up Sugar Loaf Mountain. The views are incredible!
We also took the girls to Wetmore's Landing. It is a great beach about 20 minutes from my parents house. P and I used to hike here all the time when we lived in Marquette.
When we got down to the beach the girls saw the water and waves and wanted to go in. I thought it would be too cold, being Lake Superior. But we took off their clothes and then went swimming in their undies! They had a blast in the almost warm water!
We had a very nice trip to the US. It was wonderful to see family and friends and eat some familiar foods!

We had a long trip back to Finland, but we survived! We had a 10 hour layover in Chicago, 8 hour flight to London, 5 hour layover in London, 3 hour flight to Helsinki. 31 hours later we were home! The girls were great. The flight from London to Helsinki was very bumpy and once the plane dropped so far and fast that we left our seats. Mommy was nervous to say the least. But we made it just fine and I was very happy to finally have my feet on the ground!
The girls are slowly adjusting to the time difference. We had a few rough nights, but I think they are adjusted now. The funniest thing is that they do not want to sleep alone anymore. All three of us shared a bedroom over the summer and now the girls are afraid to sleep alone. E has been sleeping on S's floor since we got home. We tried to have them sleep in their own beds and both girls had a very hard time falling asleep and were up several times! We are going to let them sleep like this for a few more nights and if they still want to share a room we will move them in together. It was very sweet the other day I overheard S asking E "E, would you like to sleep with me again tonight?" she asked very sweetly and really wanted her sister to say "YES!"
They are also adjusting to daycare quite well. S was nervous the first day, but as soon as we walked into the daycare yard several kids saw S and said "MOI S!" It was very sweet. She hung on my leg for a few minutes but was soon off playing. E was off and playing the instant we walked in the gate! Now when we go and pick them up they do not want to leave. Their Finnish was gone down some, but they are still talking at school and we are working on it at home too.
